  • Be at least 14 years old
  • Be good at communicating and enjoy helping others
  • Be able to volunteer min. 5 hours a month (one 3 hours shift, one 2 hours Monthly superuser meeting)

How to become a superuser

  1. You must have read and agreed to our Superuser Charter which can be found here.
  2. Participate in at least 3 x 3-hour volunteering shifts. During the shifts, you must help other users with their projects, and you must not work on your own projects.
  3. For each volunteer shift, another superuser has to sign your application form. When you have 3 signatures, you hand the form over to another superuser. Ask for the form in Fablab or download it below.
  4. At the next superuser meeting, the other volunteers will discuss your application. If you are accepted, you will be invited to the closed superuser group on Facebook. The first thing you have to do as a new super user is to write a presentation of yourself and post it in the group.

What could be a 3-hour volunteering shift?

Often it will mean that you participate in Open Lab with two superusers. Together you will help visitors with their projects.

It could also be other volunteer work for the fablab, eg. doing a workshop on a specific skill or tool, fixing a machine or improving the facilities, representing Fablab at a local event etc.

If your volunteering is not an Open Lab event, please remember to ask a superuser to register your activity in your paper.
