3D Printing
3D Printing
Here there is access to various 3D printers, vinyl cutters and 3D scanners. You can read our guidelines for use on this page, as well as find specifications and user manuals for the individual machines (nb. opens external link)
3D printers
We have different filament 3D printers. We print in PLA plastic, and only the staff or superusers are allowed to change the filament.
Be aware that the different printers use different filament thicknesses. On the desktop computers, you will find both slicer software that matches the printers, as well as Open Source Software. The format for the machines is .stl
For long 3D prints you will need to leave it overnight and you will need to make an agreement with a superuser for collection. You have to start the print late in the evening so that others can use the 3D printer during the day. It is not possible to schedule printers and there may be peak loads during the day.
Vinyl cutters
The vinyl cutter Roland CAMM can cut foil in 2D in exactly the motifs you feed it. Here it is possible to get very precise and detailed cutouts for stickers of all kinds. The vinyl cutters are available for foil for both signs and textiles. In the case of foil printing on textiles (e.g. a t-shirt), you can mount the print with the vinyl press you will find in the sewing room. Alternatively, you can use an iron.
3D scanners
Create a 3D model using our 3D scanners. The scanners are available by requesting staff or super users.
